Hi' I am Esther Williams
Esther is an enthusiastic and compassionate Occupational Therapist who places a strong emphasis on the value of validation and advocacy for children, adolescents, and their families.
With a background in the public sector, Esther has gained substantial experience within Social Services. Her work has spanned various domains including rehabilitation, assessment, and the provision of aids and adaptations. She holds expertise in areas such as specialist seating and moving and handling. Esther has experience working within special education where she worked in a school setting as a sole charge Occupational Therapist. Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Esther had a career that involved working closely with children and young people with a range of physical, sensory and additional complex needs in school and care settings. Esther works for Helping Kids Shine Limited which is a therapy business based in Bridgend in South Wales, with a national reach across the United Kingdom.
Esther’s main duties at Helping Kids Shine include supporting children and young people to maximise their independence and to reach their functional goals, as well as assisting with postural management, providing detailed treatment plans, supporting sensory differences, carrying out upper limb treatment, and assessing for and providing specialist equipment.
Esther is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
Esther ensures that she engages in Continuing Professional Development and meets all standards laid down by the Health and Care Professions Council.
Esther’s formal education includes her BSc Occupational Therapy through Auckland University of Technology completed in 2006, where she was awarded top student in 2004 and 2005. She has also completed a BA at the University of Auckland in 1998 where she majored in Psychology and minored in Education and was awarded the Senior Prize in 1998.
