Hi' I am Victoria Butcher

Victoria is a passionate and engaging Occupational Therapist who believes in the importance of validation and advocacy for children, young people, and their families.

Victoria has experience of working in public and private sectors, with several years spent with the NHS and Social Services, working with adults and children prior to moving into private practice. Victoria has experience of working with special education schools across Gloucestershire. She has worked as an onsite Occupational Therapist for a trust of schools and children’s care homes that specialised in working with children aged between 8-19 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Victoria works for Helping Kids Shine Limited which is a therapy business based in Bridgend in South Wales, with a national reach across the United Kingdom.

Previously, Victoria worked as a Specialist Recovery Practitioner within the NHS. In this post she worked alongside patients, their families, medical specialists, the local authority, and wider agencies to provide appropriate assessment and intervention to those with complex mental health conditions throughout acute, crisis and recovery pathways.

Victoria is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, including the Specialist Section for Children, Young People, and Families.

Victoria ensures that she engages in Continuing Professional Development and meets all standards laid down by the Health and Care Professions Council.

Victoria’s formal education includes her BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy through the University of the West of England awarded in 2021, and she is currently completing her Sensory Integration Module 1 (Foundations and Neuroscience) with Sensory Integration Education. She will be completing Modules 2-4 with ASI WISE in 2024.
